Cannot deny the cars look very good. Its just that Koreans cars are build like Iphones. Once something is wrong, you get a new one. Malaysia have them. I have a relative who owned a Kia Sephia and the car after 1 year have little niggles that warrants for parts change. And he had to wait for more than a month to get the parts. Its also in warranty. The car has since been replaced by a Latio. Also had customers who drives Sonata with weird electronic problems and mysterious water leakages in cabin. As mentioned, stop taking the old not yet perfected earlier Korean made to compare. You want to compare that way, Japanese made in the older days 60's were problem cars as they made cheap low quality unreliable goods that time. Japanese brands only found the formula later in building proper car engines in onwards by replicating conti technology. Same goes to Koreans, they found the formula in Theta engine onwards with tech from MMC+Chrysler. It was Theta engine that proven Korean cars reliable and durable that convinced people to buy Koreans.

Used engine and gearbox in chopshops are nothing more than overdue dying soon parts. No point buying them to last 1 month at half price of brand new.

I am talking about brand new parts and be it Japanese and Korean, I buy new parts only. Korean parts are cheap, as per previous comment, they are largely available with immediate parts. I don't have to import, just get it off the shelves. Also, there are spare part suppliers that import used Korean non-technical parts like doors, bonnets, etc. You don't want brand new, you can still get used parts. Is that much better than buying from arrogant chopshops that might sell you at high markup. Better buy brand new.
