Your Position: Home - Body Parts - How many miles does a OEM clutch last?
If you notice any of these symptoms in your vehicle, making an appointment with your trusted mechanic is your next step. Driving with a failed clutch can be dangerous, as when a clutch goes bad it can break apart, leaving you without a vehicle. Your mechanic will be able to make a proper diagnosis and recommended repair to get you back on the road.

Your driving habits play a big role in the lifespan of your clutch. The less stress you put on your clutch, the longer it will last. Follow these simple guidelines to get the most out of your clutch.
One of the first things you were likely told when learning to drive a stick shift was to avoid riding the clutch. That is still good advice. Dont use the clutch to control your vehicles speed. Riding the clutch is hard on the part and can lead to premature failure.
If you are sitting at a traffic light or in line at the drive-thru lane and expect to wait more than 10 seconds, dont use the clutch to keep your car in a stopped position. Take the car out of gear, engage the brake and put it in neutral until youre ready to take off. This seemingly small action can help save wear and tear on your clutch.

OEM expected clutch life? only milesHey all. Well i think i may need a new clutch soon already. car has miles and a few mods but the car has been tracked at the drag strip one time and is pushed hard on the street. i have tried searching for an expected clutch life for our cars but have not had any luck getting a good answer. im sure i have accelerated my clutchs wear though. im looking at doing a clutch/flywheel combo all at once and am on a budget. i ran a 6 puck clutch and flywheel combo from Z1 motorsports in my 06 350z and loved it. does anyone know if running a 6 puck sprung clutch in our cars is comparable to what it was like in the 350z? this is my daily driver as was my 350z but like i said i loved it. when i drive my z now i feel like it slips slightly when getting into high rpm under WOT but only every so often. i have had slipping clutches before in other cars so i am familiar with the feel. however i dont ever smell the clutch like its burning up. has anyone else had clutch failure at so few miles? sorry for the long paragraph. thanks for reading!
